The EMV SUMMIT was held to bring together a group of institutions to educate and share information over the upcoming EMV initiative. The name SUMMIT came from a banker saying he felt like EMV was an unconquerable mountain ahead of him.
An outstanding speaker, Major Rob Marshall USAF, who created the organization USAF SEVEN SUMMITS spoke to the group at lunch. This group assist members in scaling the seven tallest summits of the world. Education, training, teamwork and resilience were things that were stressed. Being able to rely upon your partners was vital!
Major Rob mentioned how valuable the local sherpas were to the climbers and how there expertise not only can assist in reaching the summit faster, but they help save them from making drastic mistakes. A comment was made that we were "like EMV Sherpas" for the institutions.
EMVSHERPA.COM was developed to continue to assist our local financial partners to successfully scale the EMV Summit.
EMV...it's going to be an interesting journey.
